K9 Gold Label® Recovery – Targeted support after physical exertion
A good performance doesn’t end at the finish line
A working dog places high demands on its body. During intense training sessions, competitions, and physical work, not only are the muscles strained, but so are the tendons, ligaments, joints, and connective tissue.
Whether it’s IGP, agility, canicross, sled dog racing, coursing, weight pulling, or police and security work: after physical exertion, an important phase begins in which the body needs nutrients for maintenance and recovery.
K9 Gold Label Recovery was developed to support sports and working dogs specifically during this phase.
Recovery consists of concentrated beef bone broth powder and naturally provides high-quality protein, amino acids, and collagen. Thanks to its easily mixable powder form, it can be easily served as a tasty broth or sprinkled over daily meals.
Why Collagen Is Important for Sporting Dogs
When we think of intense physical activity, muscles are often the first thing that comes to mind. But tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and connective tissue also take a lot of strain during exercise.
Collagen is an important structural protein that occurs naturally in these tissues. It plays a role in the structure and strength of the musculoskeletal system.
Recovery naturally contains five types of collagen: types I, II, III, IV, and V.
The five types of collagen
- Type I – Tendons, ligaments, and bones: an important structural collagen found in strong connective tissue that absorbs a great deal of stress during movement.
- Type II – Cartilage: an important component of articular cartilage that contributes to the cartilage’s structure.
- Type III – Muscles and connective tissue: found, among other places, in the supportive connective tissue structures surrounding muscles and organs.
- Type IV – Supportive tissue layers: forms part of basement membranes, thin structures that support various body tissues.
- Type V – Collagen structure: works together with other collagen types to play a role in the formation and organization of collagen fibers.
These different types of collagen demonstrate just how versatile collagen is as a building block in the body.
Proteins and Amino Acids for the Recovery Phase
After a strenuous workout or game, the body needs protein to maintain and repair body tissue.
According to the product specifications, Recovery contains 88% crude protein and provides amino acids, which serve as the building blocks of proteins.
This makes Recovery a targeted nutritional supplement for the period following physical exertion.
Recovery was not developed as a muscle-building supplement, but as a dietary supplement to support recovery and exercise.
Recovery and hydration go hand in hand
After intense physical activity, it’s not just nutrition that’s important. Staying properly hydrated also deserves attention.
Recovery can easily be mixed with cold or lukewarm water to make a tasty beef broth. The natural beef flavor makes the water more appealing to dogs and can encourage them to drink more.
This is especially useful after training sessions, competitions, and physical work, when you want to give your dog some extra water.
Recovery + Electrolyte: A Powerful Combination After Exercise
Recovery and K9 Gold Label Electrolyte each serve their own purpose and therefore complement each other well.
Recovery provides protein, amino acids, and collagen to support nutrition during the recovery phase.
Electrolyte helps replenish electrolytes that can be lost during exercise, among other activities.
By strategically combining both products, you support both nutritional replenishment after physical exertion and electrolyte balance.
The products can be given separately or mixed with water, according to their instructions for use.
Not just for competition days
Although Recovery is specifically designed for working and sporting dogs, it can also be used on a daily basis.
On quiet days, it’s a simple addition to their diet or a tasty broth. After strenuous training sessions and competitions, a higher dose can be given according to the usage instructions.
Recovery is also suitable as a flavor enhancer for dry food, fresh meat, or other daily meals.
